Taming
Romeo by Rachelle Ayala
Book Blurb:
Evie Sanchez is recovering from heartbreak by working at her parents’
Filipino restaurant when in walks Romeo Garcia, the boy she left behind. Only
now, he’s a hot movie star surrounded by gorgeous actresses and adoring fans.
Bad boy Romeo Garcia never understood why Evie stood him up at the prom. When
he rescues her from a flying coconut in the dumpster, he is determined to dig
into her heart for the reason. Their mutual attraction and unresolved feelings
ignite in a scintillating night of daring sex, and Romeo shows Evie what she’ll
miss the rest of her life if she walks away again. Evie lands a part as Romeo’s
co-star and falls into her role, totally in love. He plays his part, too, with
his romantic gestures and skillful lovemaking. But is the fantasy real or
revenge? Evie and Romeo are about to discover if their buried feelings will
explode in pure delight or utter disaster.
Review:
This was my first book by Rachelle and I didn’t know what to except
from this book. I wasn’t disappointed, it was Hot, Fun and Downright Fantastic.
I couldn’t put this book down there is so much chemistry between Evie and Romeo
that make this book so hot, it was on fire.
I love reading soap opera and drama filled book and Taming Romeo hit
that mark, but with a look into the Filipino cultural that I didn’t know
anything about. I found that some of the practices in the cultural with dating
are crazy compared to here in the States, like the three date rule.
Rachelle did a wonderful job matching the romance and drama with an
understanding of what her reader would want. The Characters from Evie and Romeo
to her family were all spot on. I loved reading about Evie and Genie her
sister, rivalry that make Evie relatable to anyone with a sister. I also found
Evie to be like most twenty something, trying to found themselves with a mix of
old, new and trouble relationships on top of an overbearing family. We see Evie
grow from the moment we meet her to the end she grows into who she wants to be.
Romeo knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it, so when he see
Evie again, he grabs her. Romeo is hot with his motorcycle and bad boy movie
star looks…oh wait he is a movie star as well, but he is also sweet and truly
love Evie.
The ending was surprising and unexpected with the twist making it even
better. Rachelle’s writing style is really great with the mixed of language and
how she makes you feel like you’re part of the story. 4 out of 5 stars.
